JOB SUMMARY

The Development Generalist will join a dedicated and energetic Development and Communications team to provide support on all areas of foundation relations, individual donor cultivation, events, office administration, and social media.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for constituent and gift entry, acknowledgement, scanning, processing, and reconciliation.
  • Assist in the creation of donor lists and gift queries, and ongoing database cleanup.
  • Conducting phone outreach to potential donors or stakeholders to secure Gala and other donations
  • Regularly update gift entry and event attendance lists for the Gala and other events
  • Ensure timely, personalized, and accurate donor mailings, both print and electronic, conducting follow-up calls as needed to ensure invitations and other mailed materials have been received.
  • Provide support for special events and meetings, including ordering and setting up refreshments and PR materials, and coordinating photography.
  • Solicit raffle/auction items for fundraising events; distribute donations such as holiday toys upon request.
  • Filing, mailing, printing, copying, scanning, distributing, and shredding documents as necessary.
  • Maintain the departmental calendar and revise as needed.
  • Planning and organizing fundraising events.
  • Implement smaller gatherings, such as corporate volunteer events.
  • Managing donor relationships and ensuring proper acknowledgment and recognition.
  • Outreach: Engaging with the community and potential donors.
  • Research: Conducting research to identify potential donors and funding opportunities.
  • Gifts-in-Kind: Managing non-monetary donations.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing financial reports related to fundraising activities.
  • Work closely with the Finance department on gift reconciliation, grant budgets, and grant reporting.
  • Solicitations: Writing, designing, and producing solicitations for fund drives.
  • Proposal Development: Preparing proposals and negotiating with vendors.
  • Donor Visits: Leading and facilitating individual donor visits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Commitment to and enthusiasm for Northside’s mission.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Office 365. Proficiency in Constant Contact, Raiser’s Edge, Laser Fiche, and social media preferred.
  • Excellent organizational aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Experience and comfort interacting with high-profile individuals.
  • Self-directed; able to manage competing priorities and workflow, and to nimbly handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A team player with a collaborative and cooperative attitude.
  • Works well under pressure, always maintaining a polished and professional presentation.
  • Reliable and punctual; Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
