JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for Group Leaders and Youth counselors to Build a positive relationship with each after-school participant in our care and foster positive connections. We expect you to always engage with all children actively to foster positive youth development.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates a commitment to leadership development, and community building.
  • Conduct yourself as a professional and representative of the agency with all staff, parents, children, and anyone else with whom you come into contact in your role.
  • Help participants develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills.
  • Plan, implement, and lead successful educational activities, and or supervise extracurricular programs such as Dance or Art.
  • Implement behavior management techniques to ensure a safe and positive environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and engaging program.

Qualifications

  • A four-year high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree in Education, Family Studies, Psychology, Liberal Arts, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in a daycare, classroom, or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a group of children and maintain discipline.
  • First aid certification is preferred.
