OBJECTIVES: Reporting to the Manager, Programs – Main Clinic, the Clinical Social Worker will provide outpatient mental health services to clients and their families in our MHOTRS Behavioral Health Clinic’s Main Clinic Program. This role is dedicated to enhancing emotional well-being and strengthening family dynamics through individualized therapeutic interventions. The position requires adherence to all state regulations and professional standards while fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for a diverse client population.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Deliver therapeutic services such as intakes, individual therapy, collateral therapy, and group therapy to clients ages 6-25 and their caregivers in our Main Clinic Program by using evidence-based, trauma informed treatment approaches. Servies are provided both in-person and via secure telehealth platforms.
2. Assess and formulate clinical diagnoses, administer required clinical assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress toward established goals.
3. Coordinate case management by arranging care and resources, facilitating referrals, and providing advocacy support for clients and families.
4. Provide immediate crisis intervention and safety planning for clients experiencing acute emotional distress.
5. Maintain compliance with agency regulatory standards by ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), including assessments, treatment plans, progress and informational notes, and discharge planning.
6. Ensure program accessibility for clients by maintaining a schedule that accommodates evening hours and after-school/work appointments.

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

• Deep understanding of HIPAA, FERPA, and professional ethical guidelines.
• Ability to provide services that respect diverse backgrounds and identities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must hold a valid clinical license in the State of New York such as Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a doctoral degree in psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.).
• Experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices, crisis intervention, and telehealth delivery.

Main Clinic clinicians have the opportunity to accrue clinical hours towards their LCSW credential. Main Clinic clinicians have the opportunity to train in the following modalities as training cohorts are available:

• Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
• Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)
• Screening Brief Intervention Referral To Treatment Certification (SBIRT)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This position is covered under 1199 SEIU collective bargaining agreement. Salary and benefits are determined in accordance with the union contract and applicable pay scales.

Salary range $72,557- $86,638.
